|Bigger amounts of sample can be ground with our Disk Mill PULVERISETTE 13 to the desired fineness. This sample did not jam the feeding funnel. With particles > 2 cm, we generally recommend a pre crushing (e.g. with Jaw Crusher PULVERISETTE 1 Model I).|

Your sample contains a few particles with up to 3 cm length. Such sample can jam the feeding funnel. When sample stick in the funnel, feeding can be supported with a brush, or a pre crushing (e.g. with a jaw crusher) can be performed.
Pre crushed sample also might get ground faster. For a grinding of the total amount of your sample, 90 seconds use to be required. With a gap setting of 0,5 mm; particles can pass the gap after one dimension uses to be < 0,5 mm. For this, still particles with up to 0,7 mm can be found in the ground sample.
After grinding, gap between the disks uses to be free of residue; only electrostatic charged sample use to remain inside the grinding chamber and can be removed by vacuuming with a soft brush.
It is still possible to reduce the gap setting for a finer grinding result.
