Unfortunately only the desired amount of sample has been sent to perform just one test with the Disk Mill PULVERISETTE 13 as desired.

Your kind of sample appears to be quite brittle. It took about 60 seconds until no grinding sound stopped (no more particles use to be in the grinding chamber). The output of a properly filled grinding chamber will be way higher.

We found ~ 4,4 g of sample in the collecting vessel of the machine, about 0,4 g of sample remains loose on the ribs of the grinding disk, or as electrostatic attached fine dust inside the grinding chamber.

A cleaning can be performed rapidly by vacuuming with a soft brush. As mentioned, only one dimension of particles needs to be < 100 µm to pass the gap of the grinding disks. For this, even longer particles will be found after grinding.

We checked the present fineness by sieving the complete sample with our Vibratory Sieve Shaker ANALYSETTE 3 Pro and a test sieve of 100 µm mesh. About 10 % of sample use to be fine enough to pass the test sieve.

We are guessing that a finer result can be found by using a Vibratory Micro Mill PULVERISETTE 0 (after pre crushing the sample). Also other machines like classic line planetary mills, or a Vibrating Cup Mill PULVERISETTE 9 might come into question for a finer comminution
