A requested, grinding is possible with Vibrating Cup Mill PULVERISETTE 9 and a grinding set made of agate. Metal grinding sets might achieve much faster grinding results.

About 50 g of sample use to fit. We are guessing that a maximum amount of 75 g can be ground with the 50 ml grinding set made of agate.

The start size of this sample use to be < 8 mm. We don’t recommend feeding much larger particles for grinding.

After 15 minutes of grinding, the fineness has been determined my sieving of an aliquot with a test sieve of 71 µm with Vibratory Sieve Shaker ANALYSETTE 3 Pro. It has shown that already 96 % of sample use to be < 71 µm.

To achieve a d90, probably a grinding time of 10-12 minutes might be fulfilling.

We are guessing that an equal grinding result can be achieved much faster when a grinding set made of metal will be used. A reduction of speed, as it used to be set automatically with agate grinding set is not necessary. Therefore, the machine will be able to grind with 1500 rpm.
