Soils sample has been ground to a homogenous brown, fine powder, the root pieces with a length of ~10cm use to stay intact.

If the sample should just be mixed without any grinding effect, it is plausible using balls with less impact force (e.g. 20mm Ø instead of 30mm Ø) or reducing the speed of the machine.

In this trial, root pieces have been precut with a side cutter to max. length of < 1cm pieces. This way, all sample become ground to a homogenous, fine powder.
