In April our Belgian distributor Benelux Scientific organized a FRITSCH workshop: Comminution of samples in the application laboratory. The venue was the Technopolis in Mechelen, Belgium. A total of 25 interested and enthusiastic participants from a wide variety of industries took part in the workshop.
In the theoretical part, our application consultant Dagmar Klein and Sofie Clarhout from Benelux Scientific, two guest speakers from the Universities of Ghent and Leuven, spoke about practical applications in mechanochemistry using FRITSCH Planetary Ball Mills premium line and the challenge of fine grinding polymers with FRITSCH Cutting Mills in research.
In the practical part of the workshop, samples of the respective participants were prepared. Besides comminution of copper flakes in Cutting Mills, comminution of metal powders in Planetary Ball Mills, samples of plants, polymers and minerals, a wide range of different samples were available, which were prepared during the afternoon.
Various solutions for the most diverse samples were found. In the late afternoon a discussion round ended the interesting and informative day for all participants.
