With this pre grinding step, sample size will be reduced until a grinding with e.g. Vibration Cup Mill PULVERISETTE 9 or Planetary Mono Mill PULVERISETTE 6 classic line is plausible.

After 2 minutes of grinding, the complete sample has been ground to < 8mm. See following trials for fine grinding.

With our Vibration Cup Mill PULVERISETTE 9, sample will mainly become flat out to flakes with a size of ~ 1mm. By longer grinding, sample will become sintered together. A longer dry grinding is not possible.

After 2 minutes of dry grinding, the majority of sample use to be < 100µm as desired. Only a small amount of flakes have been formed.

To achieve a better grinding result, we recommend grinding in suspension.
